LACS is Dog Friendly

Todos os artigos

What is the best way to celebrate the international Dog day? Bringing them to work with us.

Bringing your dog to the workplace is becoming more and more common, and LACS has also joined the trend. Our spaces are dog-friendly, but the dogs must always be with their owners and cannot walk around the building unsupervised.

In order for everything to run smoothly and for everyone’s well-being to be guaranteed, there are a series of rules that must be followed.

Dogs must enter the building on a leash and go outside to do their business, as well as have their vaccinations up to date with liability insurance. At our reception we have bowls of water for your best friend and, in case of a mishap, the team must be notified for immediate cleaning.

In just about every aspect of our lives, pets have been a positive influence on their owners’ well-being. There’s a lot that our four-legged friends can offer us, from company to fun, and it doesn’t have to end when you go to work.

What are the advantages of dogs going to the office with their owners?

  1. Improves health

Dogs are so adorable that they are even good for the heart. Fur real! There are studies to prove it. Dog owners tend to have lower blood pressure, cholesterol and triglyceride levels – in part because of the increased physical activity associated with having a dog. At LACS they will encourage you to move around throughout the day and to not sit for too long, because it doesn’t matter the weather outside or the workload you have inside, the bathroom break and the walk outside requests will keep you active.

And even if you don’t own a dog, the simple act of petting one can lower your blood pressure.

They are also able to keep us company like no one else, managing to help us with problems such as depression and anxiety, as well as improving socialization and self-esteem.

  1. Promotes collaboration and increases work morale

Don’t you love it when a dog greets you super excited? It’s as if you were hit with a good mood boost. You’re not making it up, pets do tend to bring people together.

They help us break the ice and are a great way to start a conversation and make friends. This promotion of socialization among employees helps to improve communication and cooperation.

Also, having pets in the workplace improves employee morale. Seeing wagging tails and hearing their little paws can boost happiness levels, helping you feel more satisfied at work.

  1. Reduces stress

Stress is not good for anyone, but it can be especially harmful at work.

It is scientifically proven that pets reduce stress and promote calming sensations, whether with their cuteness or the funny things they do throughout the day. Who hasn’t laughed out loud because of their pets?

Some studies show that levels of oxytocin (the hormone responsible for reducing stress) increase when you bring your dog with you to work.

It will certainly also leave you more relaxed knowing that you don’t need to leave your pet alone at home, making your day-to-day logistics easier.

  1. Boosts productivity and creativity

It may seem counterproductive to say that having a dog-friendly space can help you focus, but the truth is that their presence can help dissipate tension and provide support when stress levels are high.

And what happens when you are happier and less stressed? You become more productive, of course!

While having a pet in the workplace can be associated with distractions and disrupting the “workflow,” pets provide happiness, reduce stress, improve communication, and remind employees to take breaks for exercise and mental health.

Take this LACS advantage and make the routine come back smooth for your dog. LACS has three locations: LACS Conde d’Óbidos, LACS Anjos and LACS Cascais.
