Functional Mindfulness is a path of self-development where we learn to relate to ourselves and to others from a state of awareness and compassion. This wonderful and enlightening workshop will be given by Mindfulness expert Alan Pogrebinschi from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Who is Alan Pogrebinschi:
At the age of 16, Alan decided to spend his summer break in India to study meditation - a practice that became part of his life ever since. In the early 90's, at 22, he founded one of the first pure web hosting companies of Latin America, Empresa.Com, and an NGO, Tribo.Net, which combined brought thousands of businesses and other NGO's to the then new world of the World Wide Web.
A few years later Alan went back to school to finish his studies, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University, and joined Morgan Stanley in New York. His Wall Street career as a derivatives trader and marketer included SVP and director positions at Lehman Brothers, Barclays and UBS.

At 39, already back in Brazil, after a health scare, Alan decided to leave the investment banking world and dedicate himself fully to his early passion of studying and teaching meditation. He got training in mindfulness and acceptance based interventions and developed a contextual-behavioral approach to mindfulness training called Functional Mindfulness.

Alan currently lives in São Paulo and travels Brazil teaching Functional Mindfulness. Besides his BA in Math and Econ from Cornell, he also holds an MSc in Psychology from the University of Derby. He's a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science and the British Psychological Society."
