Chatting with: Tars Ventures

Tars Ventures has it’s Virtual Office at LACS Conde D’Óbidos and we went to find out more about their day-to-day work.

VOC VENTURES is a registered trademark owned by TARS VENTURES that aggregates human investments and my shareholdings in companies.
VOC VENTURES has several business areas VOC CR (Venture Capital), VOC TI (Information Technologies), VOC DP (Personal Development), VOC CON (Consulting) and VOC IMO (Real Estate).
The vision of VOC VENTURES is Conscious Leadership based on principles.

We spoke with Pedro Pires.

Describe your work in three words. 

Awakening Conscious Leadership.

What is best about your job? 

The diversity of areas of activity and the interpersonal relationships associated with them.

Describe your typical day.

In my work there’s no typical day, the weekly schedule is adjusted according to the priorities of each of the business areas. For example, I can start the day with a business coaching session, then make an appointment to Beyond the Being and then a mentoring session in an entrepreneurship contest. Subsequently, analyze a real estate investment opportunity. Then, monitor the development of technological consultancy projects in the crowdfunding area. To end the day in a meeting of the board of directors of venture capital, to do the follow up of the companies participated and the investments made on venture capital.

What music do you listen to while working? 

My musical preference is quite diverse, being one of my hobbies, producing playlists on Spotify. For me there’s a song for every single moment of life. Listening to music is one of the ways to stay focused while responding to daily challenges.

How did Tars Ventures start? What’s the main idea behind Tars Ventures?

The brand started in March 2017, as Pedro Pires Coaching, with the aim of providing services in the personal development area (coaching and training). The business started to grow and the customers requests were throwing me new challenges. In March 2019 the company changed its name to RESULTS 4PEOPLE2BUSINESS, the strategy was to diversify business areas (venture capital, information technology and consultancy). In July 2020, the company changed its name to TARS VENTURES and made the first real estate investments in the national market. In February 2021, the company launched VOC VENTURES brand with the mission of contributing to the development of Conscious Leadership based on the human and financial investments principles made.

What do you like most about LACS? 

The opportunity to work in a network at LACS, that is, in a cluster of creators anchored on three fundamental pillars: community, communication and creativity.

When you were a child, what did you want to be? 

Astronaut, I was always creating stories and space adventures. As a suggestion, check VOC VENTURES website at www.vocventures.pt and see where the inspiration came from.

What was your first job? 

My first job was as a human resources consultant in HR companies, where I carried out recruitment and selection processes in different sectors of activity.

Someone who inspires you and why?

What is the secret to success? 

To answer this question I will use a metaphor, Aristotle said that “Man only thinks if he has an image.” My image is Conscious Leadership, meaning, my vision as a conscious leader is what works or doesn’t work, more than what is right or wrong in each moment.

Advice for someone just starting a business? 

My suggestion is that before starting the business, the entrepreneur, invest in his self-knowledge. Self-knowledge is the best investment that anyone can make in life. The first step is to become aware of the process of personal and professional evolution. The second is to take action and establish a multi-stage action plan. The third step is to overcome the obstacles that will arise during this path of growth and learning.

What are your favorite places in Lisbon? 

One of them is the rooftop of LACS Conde de Óbidos, since May 2017, that I fell in love with this view over Lisbon with the possibility of working next to the river.

Another of my favorite places in Lisbon are the various viewpoints in the city. They offer the possibility to observe and see the different perspectives of Lisbon and of it’s people.
